Short version: this site does not ask who you are, does not run accounts or a mailing list, and does not set advertising cookies of its own.

What this site stores

When you tap a heart to save an event, the list of saved events is kept in your own browser (local storage) so it is still there next time. It never leaves your device and you can clear it by un-saving events or clearing your browser data.

Things loaded from other sites

To show photos, maps and the map software, your browser fetches files from Wikimedia (photos), OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and cdnjs (the Leaflet map library). Those services receive your IP address in the normal way when your browser requests the files. Photo credits are on our photo credits page.

Booking.com and Trainline links

Some “stay nearby” and “check trains” links are affiliate links. If you follow one, the partner site — and, for Booking.com, the affiliate network CJ — may set its own cookies so that a booking can be credited to us. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. See how our affiliate links work.

Calendar downloads

Calendar files and the subscription feed are plain files. Subscribing means your calendar app checks this site for updates from time to time; we do not learn who you are.
